SPEAKING
Conversations that invite reflection, imagination, and possibility while expanding worldviews.
A Few Past Speaking Engagements-
I’ve been a keynote speaker for the Building Community Philanthropy Convening hosted by Gates Foundation in partnership with Philanthropy Northwest. The theme of this 2023 convening was on Reframing Risk to see the Potential Rewards of Funding Racial Equity. I love speaking on topics that invite massive perspective shifts.
Another panel I appreciated being a part of was at the Center for Third World Organizing (CTWO)’s Living Liberation Conference. This panel was titled Unlocking Imagination: Creativity in the Face of Destruction. This conversation sat within the conference's broader focus on Radical Governance & Resilient Communities — “exploring how we move, grow, and rebuild in relationship with one another.” Creativity is a nourishing lifeforce that we are practicing all the time, beyond any specific art, in all of our work whether it’s creating curriculum or designing a coaching arc.
One of my most meaningful speaking engagements was in my earlier activism as board chair of Trikone Northwest in Seattle, speaking at the 2010 Dyke March on the theme of Connecting with the International Community: Dyke, Lesbian, Bi, Trans, and Queer. My own family and community is so international that it was particularly significant to think about this as a newer immigrant then.
